Paolo and Linda at Barrio Santa Cruz.
This easy-going-charming couple from Italia were planing to go to Seville to celebrate their honey moon and decided to immortalize it by booking a tour with PhotoTour Seville. They asked us for a romantic place to make the album, and we could help it, we highly recommended them to shoot at Barrio Santa Cruz.
Located in the city center, bounded on the west by the surroundings of the Cathedral La Giralda ; south to the gardens of the Alcázar; to the east by the Gardens of Murillo and the north by the Santa María la Blanca street.
It originated in the old Jewish quarter of Seville, when King Ferdinand III of Castile conquered the city, the second largest Jewish community in Spain was concentrated in Seville, after Toledo.
After the expulsion of the Jews in 1483, the neighborhood that occupied what is the Barrio de Santa Cruz and San Bartolomé, plummeted until the early nineteenth century decided to rebuilt the neighborhood, opening the Calle Mateos Gago (the only relatively wide neighborhood street) or the redevelopment of the square that bears his name.
So after telling them this exciting story of Barrio Santa Cruz, they did not hesitate for a second to come here.
With the sun shining, we spent a lovely day getting lost in the narrow streets of the neighborhood and discovering its large number of squares.
In the end, we made the day by having tapas at El Tenderete bar, which has an awesome food, like spinach with chickpeas and salmorejo with pieces of ham.
A great way to finish the day and say goodbay to our lovely italina couple. We wish them a happy life and hope they come back to Seville to visit us!
All the best!!!
