August is probably the hottest month of the year in Seville. It means temperatures go up like crazy, and it is very hard to go out during the day, especially during the hottest hours. In any case, it doesn’t mean you won’t find anything to do here if you have decided to come to the city now. We already told you about some free things to do in Seville, right? So… that’s a start! 😉
But there is more. Much more! Seville is full of options even during the summer, and we don’t want you to get bored. So take a look at this list of things to do and see, because we are pretty sure you will love them!
Spend the day at Aquópolis Sevilla
One of the best things you can do in Seville during the summer is… to get wet!! And where can you do that better than in a water park? Aquópolis offers you a wide range of attractions, activities and services to help you fight the burning temperatures in Seville by having a refreshing and wonderful day.
It doesn’t matter if you go with your other half, a bunch of friends or your family, Aquópolis Sevilla offers fun for everybody! From spectacular attractions designed to get your adrenaline pumping for hours, to a VIP zone to relax and just chill out for a while, this water park is one of the best things to do in Seville during the summer.
Go watch the Spanish Supercup Soccer Final between Sevilla and Barcelona!
Do you like soccer? Then this is definitely a must for you! This month the Spanish Supercup Final between Sevilla FC and Barcelona FC will take place. What a game it is going to be!! It is a double game match, and the first encounter will be in Seville the night of the 14th, at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
If you really love soccer, maybe you would like to see the game at the stadium. In that case, we recommend that you take a look at the Sevilla FC website, so you will be able to buy your tickets in advance. Another option is to go watch the game at a bar. There are plenty of options for that, from Irish pubs like Phoenix or Merchant’s, to any “peña sevillista” (sports team club). This is definitely a great thing to do in Seville this August if you like this sport!
Take some incredible pictures from the lookout at the “Setas de Sevilla”
Right in downtown Seville you will find a monument which doesn’t appear to fit in with its environment. We are talking about the Metropol Parasol, or as it is better known: “Setas de Sevilla” (Mushrooms of Seville), because of its characteristic shape. You will find this amazing structure at Plaza de la Encarnación, and we assure you: it won’t leave you indifferent.
There is no better place to see Seville from the heights with a panoramic view than from the lookout at the top of the “Setas”. In fact, you can even spot the outskirts of the city from here. Of course, this makes the Mushrooms of Seville a perfect place to take some awesome pictures. What? You would like to know more about taking professional photos? Don’t worry, you can always join one of our photography workshops in Seville and learn the basics!
Discover the ancient Roman ruins at the Antiquarium
If you think the Mushrooms of Seville are cool, wait till you hear this. It happens to be that the awesome wooden structure and the lookout are not the only things it has to offer. Nope. There is also an incredible Antiquarium in its basement, where you will find some incredible ancient ruins dating back to Roman times. How cool is that??
These archaeological remains will show you a salting factory, fountains, and even groups of some Roman houses and streets… from the first century!! Also, you will be absolutely amazed by some other elements such as typical Roman tiles.
In addition to all that, you know what? The Antiquarium is probably one of the coolest spots in Seville during the summer, as it is underground and the remains are being kept in special conditions to avoid their deterioration.
Do some activities by the Guadalquivir River
The Guadalquivir is a very emblematic river in Andalusia, and one of the symbols of Seville. But, in addition to that, it is also an area full of things to do especially during the summer.
When temperatures go up, its riverside is still a good place to go for a walk, do some sports or just relax. You can even practice some other nice activities by the Guadalquivir. All of them will give you a good time, we are sure of that.
So, what do you think of these things to do in Seville for the rest of the summer? Don’t forget we can also offer you some very cool activities, like our photo tours and photography workshops in Seville 😉
