What to see in Seville. That’s the main question that many travelers ask themselves when they start planning their trip to the Andalusian capital.
Seville offers plenty of photogenic and beautiful spots hidden through the downtown that will leave you breathless. Many of them are located inside Maria Luisa park, one of our favorite routes for our photo tours, and where our local photographers in Seville will show you the numerous small treasures that this unique enclave hides inside.
In this interesting route through this big park you will discover historical pavilions, romantic squares, ponds, and a wide range of gardens with different species of plants, trees, and animals that will amaze you.
Would you like to know in depth what you can find during our route through Maria Luisa park? Have a look at this post!
Plaza America
Plaza America is a garden space flanked by 3 beautiful buildings; Pabellón Real (Gothic style) , Museo Arqueológico (Neo-renaissance style), and Museo de Artes y Costumbres (Neo Mudejar style).
In the center of this plaza you will find a photogenic pond with a fountain in it, surrounded by numerous roses that will give you a perfect photo during our photography workshops.
In addition, inside this plaza there are some stands that sell seeds to feed the white doves that live there. A funny activity for families that will definitely bright your day.
Jardín de los Leones
This Arabic style garden is made of several ponds with lion statues and fountains that will remind you of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, and it harbors an iconic spot of the park, Monte Gurugú, a high lookout where you could enjoy nice views and get some nice Instagram photos.
The best thing about this hidden place is that is little known among tourists, which means you could enjoy some calm and peace to meditate or relax yourself with the sound of the water, or having an intimate moment with your partner.
Isleta de los patos
Halfway along the route to Plaza España you will find a hidden oasis in the park, where you will find a pond with swans and different birds in it that will give you a perfect Instagram photo.
Besides, in the middle of the pond is located the Pabellón Alfonso XII, a tiny pavilion with neo-arab arches that fits perfect for a marriage proposal.
Glorieta de Becquer
Near Plaza España, but hidden from the crowd, is a little place with a centenary cypress in it and with a statue named with a popular local poet of Seville, Gustavo Adolfo Becquer.
The white statue has a powerful meaning as it represents the 3 kinds of love; the love that arrives, the present love, and the lost love, which makes this spot one of the top intimate and quiet places for a marriage proposal in Seville.
Plaza España
The final stop of our route through Maria Luisa park is, without a doubt, the crown jewel.
Plaza España, with its 50,000 square meters, is not only the biggest square in Spain but also the most beautiful one.
In this massive square you will find beautiful spots such as its romantic bridges, tile chairs with representations of all the cities of Spain, and a photogenic fountain that make this area one of the most instagrammable places in Seville.
