You already know there are so many things to do in Seville, even during the summer, when temperatures go up. You can always find your way to enjoy some nice activities in the city. Maybe not in its streets (it’s so hot!), but taking advantage of its awesome Guadalquivir River, some beautiful and charismatic local markets… or even enjoying a night concert in one of the most emblematic monuments of Spain: the Real Alcazar. Seville is full of things to do the whole year!
So, if you are coming to the city soon and don’t really know what you can do in Seville during the summer, here you have some good options. But they are not the only ones! Do you want to know some other things you can do and see during the rest of July? Take a look at these!
Attending to the Velá de Santa Ana (Velá de Triana)
We are pretty sure you have heard about Feria de Abril de Sevilla, right? There are so many things to know about the Seville Fair, which is one of the most famous celebrations of the city, when thousands of tourists come to enjoy this local party that is already know in the whole world.
This fair usually takes place during April, but if you always wanted to go and didn’t have the chance, and you are coming to Seville in July… you will be very lucky! By the end of the month (exactly from July the 21st to the 26th) comes the Velá de Santa Ana, also known as the Velá de Triana, because it takes place in this neighborhood. This popular celebration keeps some very interesting similarities with the Feria de Abril: like the typical flamenco dance known as “sevillanas”, the “casetas” where everything happens, and the “rebujito”, a popular drink you don’t want to miss!
Wait, you have never heard of these words before? Ok… maybe you need to know some basic vocabulary about the Seville Fair first 😉
Enjoying a movie in an outdoor cinema
Do you know a little Spanish? Do you like going to the movies? Then, you are going to love this! Every summer, the Diputación de Seville organizes “Asómate al patio”: basically, an outdoor cinema where you can enjoy some award-winning movies.
This open-air movie theater is a perfect place to enjoy both the night of Seville and a good film, right after having some tapas and drinks at the multiple bars around the Diputación. Movies usually start around 10.15 pm. Here you have a calendar with all the films you can watch here during July: www.asomatealpatio.es/peliculas.
Going to the Veranos del Alamillo
The Alamillo is the biggest park of Seville and it is always fun to go for a walk through its gardens. It’s located in the other side of the Guadalquivir, and it offers you so many activities like rowing boats, picnics, an outdoor gym and even some surfing!
In addition to that, if you are in Seville this July we recommend you to stop by the Alamillo Park at night, when you will find this garden full of people and things to do thanks to the “Veranos del Alamillo”: a city program that offers so many different activities like flamenco and other music shows, magic performances, open-air movies, and much more.
